Emiko Shibata (Emma Smith in the English dub) is the main protagonist in Emiko Of The Doors (Mystical World Of The Door Keepers in the English dub) and one of the four Door Keepers as well as "De Facto" leader.

"Our leader! Well, that's what she THINKS she is! Emma Smith is one go-getter you'll never want to not be friends with! She is always ready to take on the dangerous (most of the time) and always tries to put on a great big Smile! Though sometimes she has trouble acting her age. And be careful not to get on her hot-headed side! Emma may seem like a typical schoolgirl. She desires popularity and wants to become a Popstar when she grows up! But in reality, her favorite thing to do is read exciting stories filled with fantasy, romance, and action (Guess which type of story is her favorite? Fairytales!), and can never get enough! She lives in Fantasia on Rhode Island with her worrywart of a dad and her rambunctious and obnoxious sister Rae. She also had a late mom who loved the magical and wild!"

Emiko/Emma is a 13-year-old girl who comes from Fanasia in Hoshizora (Zebulon district in ENG). She lives with her 9-year-old younger sister Ryoka/Rae and her single father Kaisho/Kenny who is not around much due to providing with his job. She no longer has a mother as she died in a plane crash when she was very young and doesn't remember much about her. She likes fairytales and desires to be like everyone else while trying to maintain her image. Though her nature doesn't get her many friends at school and causes her to get made fun of by the older and popular girls. She is the first among the four Door Keepers to be chosen.
Her signature color is red and her birthday is June 21st (Cancer sign).
APPEARANCE[]
Emiko/Emma is a 13-year-old light peach-skinned girl with dark red eyes. Her hair is a shade of red that's usually tied up into 3 buns, two resembling mouse ears (I wonder the reference...) with the middle one being more frilly and small than the other two. Her front bangs also cover a small portion of her forehead. In her casual outfit, the ribbons she wears on her two side buns are pink while in her Doorkeeper outfit, they are black.
Her iconic casual attire consists of a bright red shirt with puffy sleeves with light salmon on the bottom. Her secondary underneath sleeves are white with salmon red at the edge of them. She wears dark red overalls underneath the shirt with hearts and buttons of pink and puffy shorts. Her socks are white and reach up to her middle legs. She also wears pink Mary-Jane shoes with pink puffed leggings on the top (her heels are salmon red).
Her doorkeeper outfit consists of a black choker with a gold and red gem on it, a red suit with gold buttons and lines, and a white collar underneath. She has black and gold puffed sleeves and white hand gloves. She also has a black puffy neck scarf on her upper torso and a gold ribbon with a red star as her symbol in the center of it. She wears a black belt with a line of gold and the center and bottom of it and a red skirt with white underneath. She wears white thigh socks with a black pattern at the top and red and gold Mary-Jane shoes with gold puffs at the back.
PERSONALITY[]
Emiko/Emma is described as being a typical bright, cheerful, and determined girl (Girly but having a few tomboyish traits as well) who never wants to give up on herself. Though she doesn't care for questioning her interests and is happy with her hopes and dreams she also has the desire to fit in with everyone else wanting others to see she can be just like them in her own unique way. She also hates seeing others be upset and wants to try and help them out in any way she can, even if it means fighting off the bad giving her a courageous attitude.
Though despite her positive and bright nature, she also has a huge attitude which is more prominent in the English dub. Though not as selfish as other characters, she hates doing things that get in her way and interrupts her schedules making her very uptight. She also has trouble acting her age at times and her attitude and cons of her personality may come across as childish on occasions. She is also described as having a very short temper (Which seems to also be more prominent in the English dub) and that temper is provoked whenever she gets made fun of, overwhelmed, or when things don't go as planned.

- Her first name in Japanese means "Blessed child" and her last name in Japanese means "Brush/Firewood".
- Her doorkeeper design as well as her hair seems to be based on Mickey Mouse. This is most likely given that Emiko/Emma is the self-proclaimed protagonist and "Leader" just as how Mickey is the mascot of the Walt Disney Company and the anime was a partnership between Disney and Toei Animation.
- Her JP voice actor (Kanae Itō) has had many roles in multiple magical girl and idol anime including Shugo Chara (Amu Hinamori), Lyrical Nanoha (Miura Rinaldi), and Love Live Sunshine (Mito Takami).
- Her ENG voice actor (Stephanie Sheh) is also known for her main roles in anime dubs including K-On (Yui Hirasawa), Doki Doki Precure/Glitter Force Doki Doki (Kenzaki Makoto/Mackenzie Mack), and in the Sailor Moon Viz dub (Titular character Usagi Tsukino).
